As of now, the university doesn’t have any measures in place to punish students who scalp their tickets.
“We really don’t have much to say about that right now,” said Vince Sweeney, a spokesman for the UW athletic department. However, that might change soon.
According to Sweeney, the university is considering adopting a consent form that would have to be signed by students when they pick up their ticket vouchers. By signing this form, students would agree to adhere to all state and local anti-scalping laws. If a student who signed this form was caught scalping their voucher, that student would jeopardize their ability to purchase tickets from the university in the future.
Even if this initiative were to go into effect, Sweeney says the reality of the situation is the university would have to pull off the near impossible feat of catching a student in the act of scalping their tickets in order to impose a punishment.
It’s a tough freaking economy, you know?

Seriously, when does overregulation become a problem in society? I can understand under, but when a city gets to this point it’s disgusting.
